Our Mission As a first stop in Questrom’s residential MBA programs, the MBA Center for Academic and Community Engagement is a collaborative, fun, and inclusive resource that promotes growth in current and future business leaders. The Center enhances academic and professional success by fostering connections and lifelong skills through individualized guidance and community engagement. Our goal is that through this work every MBA student experiences belonging to Questrom and knows they matter. Community Engagement and the MBA Center The MBA Center Community Engagement team is dedicated to facilitating ways our graduate community members connect and engage through co- and extra-curricular opportunities. We do so by overseeing supplemental class experiences, special events, communications strategies, affinity groups, student governance, and more. This team works in close collaboration with colleagues across Questrom and BU, from Questrom Events & Conferences to program faculty to those in our peer student services offices. Associate Director, Community Engagement Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Associate Director of Community Engagement is primarily responsible for growing the MBA community by developing, communicating, and executing upon engagement opportunities for program students, faculty, and staff. This work is particularly accomplished through empowering student organizations and governance, supporting the unique needs of our part-time PEMBA population, and providing leadership for the ongoing development of campus engagement digital platforms. Responsibilities: Student Clubs and Organizations Support (40%) ● Advises the Questrom graduate student government, Questrom Graduate Council (QGC), on elections, policies, committees, constitution, budget, distribution of funding to clubs, signature events, and more. ● Oversees $180K budget graduate student experience budget; reconciles all expenses between student and staff platforms, and provides allocation recommendations to QGC and clubs. ● Regularly meets in advisory capacity with QGC President and with PEMBA Pulse, the QGC sub-committee devoted to part-time MBA students. ● Facilitates special and rotating QGC student experience initiatives, such as Questrom Gear Sale and Full-Time MBA Yearbook. ● Manages and oversees advising for all 25 Questrom Graduate student clubs and organizations. Supports and directs student groups by creating, communicating, and implementing policies, procedures, and infrastructure to be successful, contributing members of the Questrom community. ● Works in close partnership with Questrom Events & Conferences on all student events. ● Reconciles student group budget transactions with expenses reported to a shared club account on SAP. ● Works with our student activities platform provider Campus Groups and with Questrom IT to update calendar of events, event approvals, workflows, accounting books, and software integrations. Campus Engagement Platform Integration (25%) ● Serves as team expert for MBA campus engagement platforms, providing strategic leadership to the migration of information between Campus Groups and Salesforce in order to align our student platforms. ● Researches, advises, and executes opportunities for enhancements, integrations, and increased efficiencies of platforms, with strategic engagement with Questrom IT and Student Services teams for future direction. ● Creates and advises on supplemental platforms such as Team Up and Google calendars to aid in behind-the-scenes communication and planning. Community Engagement Events and Special Initiatives (25%) ● Partners with program stakeholders to create co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences to align with the MBA program’s mission and strategic vision. These may include residence weeks, alumni events, celebrations, mentoring programs, leadership programs, book clubs, and more. ● Ensures PEMBA voice, interests, and availability are represented in event planning and MBA Center decision making. Plans PEMBA-focused events such as the PEMBA Late Nite series; explores interest and opportunities in new PEMBA-focused engagement tools (e.g. PEMBA directory, PEMBA online portal). ● Provides direction for Questrom Wellness brand and partners with QGC Wellness Committee in executing events, such as chair massages, Terriers Connect trainings, coordinated class breaks, etc. ● With Director, establishes and interprets feedback mechanisms, including culture surveys, post-event surveys, student experience focus groups, and more. Center Operations and Program Leadership (10%) ● As deputy to the Director of Community Engagement, as needed may serve as the decision-maker for Community Engagement team in collaboration with the Director of Academic Development. ● Supervises Senior Program Coordinator – Budget and Finance, supporting MBA Center in office budget tracking, reimbursement requests, and Eventbrite creation. Trains the Senior Program Coordinator on new functions, policies, and procedures and acts on their behalf in their absence. ● Works with other MBA Center staff to assist with planning and execution of additional program events, from LAUNCH orientation, to semester kick-offs, to Questrom Serves service opportunities. ● Shares responsibility in supporting the development of Questrom’s Global Immersion travel courses. ● As part of a greater MBA Center team supporting Questrom graduate students’ full experience, supports curricular initiatives as needed and has opportunity to cross-train within academic and curricular knowledge areas. ● Interacts with non-MBA graduate students through their involvement in clubs and QGC. Required SkillsA cover letter is required for consideration. ● Bachelor’s degree ● Master’s Degree in related field is preferred. ● Four to six years of relevant experience in counseling, student activities, student services, or higher education administration. ● Enthusiasm, empathy, and dedication with proven experience managing and empowering others. ● Strong, well-developed communication and planning skills. ● Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team. ● Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, train, and support colleagues or student leaders. ● Willingness to periodically work evenings and weekends. ● Prior event planning experience is desired. ● Familiarity with Salesforce, Campus Groups, Handshake, SAP, and Team Up a plus; a curiosity and commitment to developing mastery in these spaces a must.   • The Director of Residential MBA Admissions & Graduate Financial Aid, reporting to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions & Financial Aid, serves as a central member of the Graduate Admissions & Financial Aid Office (GAFAO) leading a team of five full-time staff responsible for managing the year-round admissions strategies and recruitment for Questrom\'s Full-Time MBA and Professional Evening MBA programs, and for directing all aspects of the financial aid function for the entire graduate population at Questrom. The Director will oversee marketing, events, and communication for candidates in the pipeline for our Full-Time MBA and Professional Evening MBA programs, developing tactics to increase total number of applications and applications from specific target populations, all while keeping in mind the Schools goals for increasing student quality and overall visibility of these programs. This role will also work closely with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions & Financial aid to support digital marketing and paid advertising initiatives. The Director will also oversee a financial aid scholarship budget of over 10 million dollars and loan processing totaling approximately 7.5 million dollars.
