As the Director of Corporate Communications, Civic Engagement, you will serve as a key member of the Corporate Communications team. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies supporting Humana’s civic engagement and enterprise impact aligned to business objectives and overall strategy. You will also act as a strategic communications advisor, leading initiatives that support Humana’s enterprise-wide corporate impact efforts and providing proactive, strategic counsel. Additionally, as the Director, you will lead the creation and implementation of communication strategies to enhance public awareness and engagement in Humana’s civic activities nationally and in key business markets such as Louisville, KY.Key Role Functions

Partner with the External Communications AVP, Office of the CEO and Civic Engagement team to develop communication strategies and messaging

Provide proactive strategic communications counsel to corporate functions supporting enterprise civic engagement

Lead and mentor a team of 3 communication professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals and support execution of communications activities

Partner with External Communications AVP to ensure all external communications are aligned with corporate communications strategy and in compliance with external communications governance processes

Lead the creation of the Humana Impact Report in partnership with the ESG Steering Committee and Director of ESG and supporting communication collateral

Oversee the creation of compelling content for various platforms, including social media, thought leadership, and national partnerships

Build and maintain relationships with media outlets (national and key business markets) to ensure positive coverage of Humana’s Impact and civic engagement activities

Collaborate with the Director of Civic Engagement, business leaders, partner organizations, and stakeholders to foster communications and support public perception

Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing regular reports to senior management

The ideal candidate will be passionate about civic engagement and community development and will be a creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies. They will have strong leadership and team-building skills, highly organized and detail oriented. Additionally, they will possess the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals as well as experience presenting to key audiences and stakeholders both internally and externally.Use your skills to make an impactRequired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field

10+ years of experience in communications, public relations or a related field

3+ years of experience in a leadership role

Experience with civic communications, ESG, Corporate Impact, crisis communication and/or public speaking

Proficiency in using communication tools and software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong understanding of integrated communications planning and measurement

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree
