We can’t wait to grow alongside you.Job Profile Summary​This role is in the Endovascular Program within our Neurosurgery Department.In collaboration with the neurosurgeon, the Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing pre-operative and post-operative care in an ambulatory setting. The PA is uniquely qualified to meet the responsibilities of the role which include, but are not limited to:

Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment

Routine management of patients during the pre and post-operative period in the ambulatory setting

Prescribing and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions

Supervise protocols and ensure compliance of studies

Development, evaluation and modifications of treatment plans as patient condition warrants

Review/prescribe therapeutic orders for patients and prescribe medications.

Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated by patient condition

Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.

Assists with procedures within the neuroendovascular suite. The PA practices in collaboration with the attending physician and other members of the multidisciplinary team to insure optimal patient outcomes.The PA works in conjunction with neurosurgery team to provide patient and family centered care, providing psycho-emotional support, educational support and discharge planning that is individualized and comprehensive.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.

Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program.

Physician Assistant Licensure within the first three months following the receipt of a complete application for medical staff membership and privilege.

Physician Assistant certification.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

One (1) year of Physician Assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual.

State and federal controlled substances registration

Two (2) years of Physician Assistant Experience.

Skills & Abilities:1.Ability to assess the needs of patients of all different age groups and to provide care appropriately.

Effective Interpersonal skills needed for interacting with physicians, staff, patients and their families, and so forth.

Excellent analytical skills needed for evaluating patients and coordinating treatment plans.

Possess the maturity, self-confidence, and ability to follow complex patient management plans as directed by the attending physician.

Maintains sensitivity, maturity and flexibility in coping with difficult situations. Must be able to work with all levels of staff. Direct contact with hospital departments, physicians, vendors, patients and the community.

Utilize organizational skills to complete assigned work effectively and on time.

Maintain competencies in an area of practice through participation in continuing education programs.

Knowledge of medications and their administration based on the age of the patient and clinical condition.
