GSE Mechanic

Job Title: GSE MechanicJob Descriptionin mechanical and electrical testing and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) such as baggage carts, deicing equipment, and more.Responsibilities

Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment

Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues (Diesel, gas, and LP)

Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems

Read and interpret electrical schematics

Work with generators (400 Hz and 28 volt)

Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems

Read hydraulic flow schematics

Utilize computer software to diagnose Powertrain Management Systems

Repair 80 and 48 volt DC systems

Troubleshoot and repair Airstart systems

Continue to receive ongoing training to gain knowledge of the equipment

Maintain the required level of productivity

Accurately complete vehicle repair orders in a timely manner

Essential Skills

2+ years of experience performing mechanical testing and troubleshooting

Ability to read schematics

Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting

Own a set of basic tools

Minimum 2+ years of experience performing automotive, diesel, or electrical work

Valid Driver's License

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous GSE experience preferred

Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines (3 years preferred)

Vocational training certificate or equivalent in work experience

Ability to attain Airport-issued ID badge (includes extensive check)

The hangar is heated in the winter and equipped with large fans to keep cool in the summer.
