Happy Pet Care is looking to hire new people to join our team as dog walkers, cat sitters, and dog boarders.
We are searching for a dog walker to walk dogs Monday-Friday from approximately 11am-2pm. The route covers an area from our office in the Cleveland Circle area & the Washington Square/Brookline Village area. The route is spread out, so a VEHICLE IS REQUIRED for this position. Pay starts at $16/hour. There are also opportunities to make additional money through evening & weekend walks, cat/small animal visits, and dog boarding, if someone has interest & availability.
We are also looking for cat sitters with availability to cover cats who need BOTH MORNING & EVENING cat visits in various neighborhoods throughout our service area (Allston, Brighton, Brookline, Chestnut Hill, Newton Corner, and Fenway). The work is on-call and fluctuates according to client requests, but there are always multiple cat visits on our schedule every day, and we especially need help on weekends & holidays. We can be flexible & help tailor a visit schedule to employee availability, with hours between 5-20 hours/week, or more, if someone wanted additional work. Pay starts at $16/hour. This position does not require a personal vehicle, but it definitely helps with efficiency & would enable someone to pick up more cat visits.
We are also looking to add more dog boarders to our team. Want the fun and companionship of having a dog, but none of the responsibility of buying food or paying for vet bills? Then dog boarding might be a good option to supplement your income. Our boarding dogs need a clean, safe, and loving home to welcome them to stay for various lengths of time, anywhere from 1 night to several weeks, depending on client requests. Boarding dogs would need a minimum of 4 walks/day (morning, midday, dinnertime & bedtime), and would need to follow the feeding routine provided by their ownerthe rest is just letting the dog hang out & be there as though part of your family. One boarding dog staying for a week could bring in over $250, and boarders are welcome to board up to 4 dogs at a time (if allowed at boarder's residence). Again, we are flexible with employee scheduling, and can work around employee availability.
The ideal applicant
-has prior experience with dog and/or cats (personal and/or professional) and feels comfortable handling and caring for multiple dogs and/or cats
-is reliable, trustworthy, punctual, conscientious, hard-working, friendly, and outgoing
-enjoys an active lifestyle and being outside in ALL types of weather
-(preferably) has a vehicle to use to get to and from appointments
-is familiar with the service area (or at the very least, is good with directions and can read a map)
-has a smart phone
