Why This Role is Important to Us:The Administrative Medical Assistant position includes a variety of support functions for the clinical group. These functions are related to overall workflow for clinical staff visiting members enrolled in either the Senior Care Options (SCO) and/or One Care as well as managing a variety of communications requests as directed by the clinical team.This position will provide administrative support for the clinical group, across the state, as needed. The Administrative Medical Assistant, reports to the Medical Assistant Clinical Manager.Supervision Exercised: NoneWhat You'll Be Doing:

Performs defined functions of the authorization process as indicated by CCA policies and procedures.

Faxing orders to community providers.

Maintains reports of due dates for MDS and schedules visits for RN/NPs across the state

Ensures adherence to medical appointments, therapeutics, and treatment regimens.

At request of clinician, schedule patient appointments for referrals to specialists.

Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order as needed.

Track temperature reading for refrigerator in medical supply room.

Reminder calls for home visits.

Maintains appropriate written and oral communication on a timely basis, completing documentation of scheduling attempts the same day the attempt is made.

Facilitates and/or delivers preventative care to members according the guidelines deemed appropriate by CCA Clinical Leadership. Guidelines may vary based on the individual makeup of the member and is based on age, co morbidities, etc.

Documents all activities and results using an Electronic Medical Record, in an effective manner while strictly adhering to CCA policies and maintains current log of prioritized ACAs across the state and schedules APCs to complete the visit, documenting scheduling attempts in the care management system and the scheduled visits in the electronic health record.

Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all mandatory trainings, including but not limited to LMS and in-person trainings.

Provide clinical care to members via telehealth technologies (video, chat, etc.) for a clinically appropriate clinical care and care management services.

Have a commitment to observing, reporting, and enhancing patient and employee safety as part of an overall emphasis on continuous improvement, learning, and member experience in the organization.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

Upon request will participate in the daily huddle or Case Review.

Conducts educational and training activities that promote appropriate, safe, effective patient care.

Actively participates in the evaluation of own performance and progress.

Participates in activities and education to maintain and advance competency.

Participates in CCA quality improvement efforts.

Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information.

Complies with organization's policy and procedures.

Advocates for members in a culturally competent manner.

Seeks maximum member and family participation to promote independence.

Compression stocking measurements.

Participates in shadow visits with potential employees and new employees to improve their onboarding experience.

Working Conditions:

Office based environment from 8:30am- 5:00pm

May be asked to travel to meetings across the state.What We're Looking For:Education Required:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Experience Required:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience, BA preferred

2+ years office/administration.

Experience working in a health plan, medical group, health-related facility or medical/DME supplier a plus.

Education, training or experience as an insurance coordinator or medical coder/biller a plus.

Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health

Education Programs (CAAHEP) or by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Preferred)

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (preferred)

Certified phlebotomy technician (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Ability to utilize an Electronic Medical Record

Ability to use on-line training platforms

Demonstrated understanding of the Model of Care

Demonstrated understanding of the benefits of each program

Ability to review welcome packets and obtain consent forms, including the Release of Information and attach them to EMR

Demonstrated understanding of when an updated MDS is needed

Demonstrated understanding of Referral to Specialists

Willing to learn and utilize telehealth technologies (video, chat, etc.), when appropriate, for a variety of clinical care and care management services.

Language(s) Required

Fluency in English

Language(s) Preferred:

Fluency in one or more of the following languages strongly preferred: Spanish,Portuguese, Russian, Nepalese, and Vietnamese.
