Title: Application Developer Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months SUMMARY: Looking for an experienced Sr. Application Developer to help build IT applications, to include transforming and migrating data, support and maintenance, and training. The Sr. Application Developer will be part of a Digital Technology Team. The incumbent will assist in building Web applications, day-to-day operations, delivering reports and data extracts, and work on transitioning the reports and data feeds into a new Oracle APEX environment. They will work closely with and receive their instructions from the IT Program Manager and Enterprise Architect.
DETAILED LIST OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze legacy applications, access databases, and document the workflows, business processes, and requirements
Propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and develop solutions for difficult and complex applications independently
Perform testing, debugging, change control, and documentation for major projects
Collaborate with project managers to implement end-to-end solutions for complex projects
Oversee the support, maintenance, operation, and upgrade of applications
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
Review the physical design of existing systems for optimizing performance
Work with internal team to analyze system requirements and develop a solution according to specifications
Help business teams with data standardization, transformation, and data quality improvement efforts
Convert all MS access databases into Oracle APEX applications
QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Expert-level knowledge and understanding of Oracle APEX with demonstrated application development experience in the newer versions of Oracle APEX – at least version 18.2 or higher
Strong knowledge of APEX Universal Theme and how to use it for various UI requirements
In-depth knowledge of logical/physical database design and strong experience in creating PL/SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and Exception handling for retrieving, manipulating, checking, and migrating complex data sets in Oracle.
Strong experience in writing and optimizing SQL and PLSQL.
Experience with modern web development technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery Ajax, XML, CSS.
Good understanding of REST API concepts and proficient in developing and consuming REST APIs with Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS)
Familiarity with all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and the ability to follow through with code implementation, including Unit Testing and ongoing support.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Basic understanding of working in any cloud platform (preferably AWS)
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Management
5+ years of experience working with Oracle APEX and Oracle Database products
Experience working with maternal and child health programs a plus.
