The Registered Nurse (RN) provides a supervised, safe, therapeutic environment for the developmentally disabled, and/or mentally ill in long-term care and acute settings. The RN is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of both direct and indirect care. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the nurse delivers patient and community-centered care, advocating for patients and their families by acting as a liaison and upholding their rights and beliefs.
