Research Associate-Epidemiology Boston, MA (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1340+Boylston+St+Boston+MA+USA+02215) Epidemiology ResearchJob TypePart-timeDescription(18.75 hours per week)DescriptionUnder the direction of Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Operations Manager, and the Study Coordinator, the Research Associate (RA) works with staff in the Epidemiology Research Program at The Fenway Institute to support and implement clinical trials according to specified study protocols. The primary study the RA will work on is a federally funded HIV prevention trial of peer-delivered strategies with transgender men and transmasculine people. The role is grant funded, so specific projects assigned may change according to study and department needs.Representative Duties:Assists Research Projects

Identifies and troubleshoots research issues raised by staff, collaborators, sponsors, or funders.

Communicates with study investigators, recruitment staff, and other study staff regularly regarding study activities.

Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent operations in compliance with protocol guidelines.

Maintains current knowledge of LGBTQIA+ health by reading academic journals, articles, attending conferences, seminars, forums, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.

Assists with the Recruitment and Retention of Study Volunteers

Conducts recruitment and community engagement.

Assists with screening and scheduling of study participants.

Reviews, discusses, and completes informed consent with potential participants, either remotely or in-person

Implements retention efforts.

Assists with Data Collection

Conducts research study visits according to protocol(s) including meeting with participants, administering surveys, and delivering intervention(s)

Delivers intervention(s) to participants

Assists in the development of research products and publications through literature reviews, editing, writing, and preparing results.

Availability to work in the evening hours (until 8:00pm Eastern) and/or weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to social science or epidemiology research

Seeking candidate with lived experiences as a transgender man, transmasculine person, or gender-diverse community member

Familiarity working to address LGBTQIA+ community needs, with emphasis on working with transgender and gender-diverse communities.

Experience with HIV and sexual health education, and screening with diverse at-risk populations

Familiarity with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and software

Attention to detail

Ability to function autonomously in a collaborative interdisciplinary team
