Surgical Research Veterinary TechnicianBoston, MAKelly Scientific Resources is searching for a qualified candidate to work on-site at a globally recognized research hospital supporting their veterinary/animal science program.Main duties and responsibilities:
Maintains and monitors the health and physical environment of animals involving complex instructions and requiring technical expertise.
Assists veterinary staff in the documentation and triage of all laboratory animal health cases, and in administering treatment to animals.
May also perform anesthesia, surgery, enrichment and behavioral tasks and technical in-life procedures.
May also support IACUC/Ethics Committee including animal welfare regulatory compliance and related government/external funding agency requirements.
Qualifications (the ideal candidate will have experience with the following):
Routine veterinary care & surgical assistance
Anesthesia & analgesia monitoring
Pre, peri & post-operative care, surgical suite maintenance
Production surgery including surgeon, induction, anesthesia, and recovery
Performance of daily tasks on small animals including vaccinations, blood draws, and restraint
