Head Chef

Brand New Water Front lobster shack scheduled to open early spring with 125 seats located in Hingham/Hull area. Looking for a hands on, working Head Chef to help open and run this exciting new restaurant. Top pay and benefits. Reports directly to the owners.

As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food and service. Your duties will include:

- Managing and supervising kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling

- Monitoring food preparation and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures for food preparation and presentation

- Collaborating with the executive chef to create new menu items and specials

- Ordering and maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients

- Ensuring proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste

- Conducting regular inspections of the kitchen to maintain cleanliness and organization

- Resolving any customer complaints or issues related to food quality or service

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Restaurant management experience preferred

- Strong knowledge of food service management principles and practices

- Proven experience in kitchen management, including shift management and staff supervision

- Proficiency in using POS (Point of Sale) systems for order processing and cash handling

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Experience in conducting interviews and managing a team

- Must have experience and knowledge of steamed and boiled seafood

- Food truck experience a plus

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
