Description:
Live-in caretaker, with part-time hours, for a mostly independent 92 year old man who would appreciate a qualified person in the house during night hours and some day hours. He is cognitively sharp, able to walk (uses a walker), and a joy to talk to. You may hold another job or be in school concurrently, as long as the hours can be worked out appropriately between both.
Schedule:
Part-Time
Live-in: You will be provided a private bedroom on-site.
Required to be in the apartment between the hours of 8 PM to 9 AM. Some day hours required, specific hours are negotiable.
Qualifications:
Must be employed or in school for a field in healthcare (CNAs, RNAs, etc. preferred, not required)
Location:
North Cambridge, Massachusetts.
You will be provided a private bedroom, access to the full kitchen, and an off-street parking spot, if needed.
Beautiful apartment in a neighborhood close to parks, shopping, MBTA/transportation, easy commute to Boston or anywhere in the Greater Boston Area.
Family of the elder lives in an apartment upstairs.
Responsibilities include:
Assistance with dressing
Washing with a washcloth (no bathing or showering required)
Weighing
Distributing medication - pills only
Light meal preparation
Light housework, kitchen, bathroom, vacuuming as needed
Laundry (in unit washer and dryer)
Notifying family of any changes or concerns with his health
Compensation:
$40,000 / year part-time role
