Schedules:

PT16hrs : Sat-Sun 7-3pm or 8-4pm

PT32hrs : Fri - Mon 11p - 7a

About Us: At Centerboard’s Youth Service Campus Programs, our mission is to nurture and support young individuals in a trauma-informed, caring environment. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate women to become Direct Care Specialists. Your role will be crucial in helping our residents navigate daily life and develop healthier coping strategies.

Role Overview: As a Direct Care Specialist, you will be a vital member of our treatment team, providing support and guidance to our youth. You’ll help create a safe and structured environment while actively participating in their daily care and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting Daily Life: Assist residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Teach new coping skills and manage emotional and behavioral challenges.

Documenting and Advocating: Maintain accurate records of interactions, incidents, and progress. Advocate for residents in meetings and reviews, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.

Ensuring Safety and Cleanliness: Oversee the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, conduct room searches, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Administer medications and manage facility security.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive logs including progress notes, incident reports, communication logs, and room searches. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Crisis Management: Use Behavior Management Techniques to effectively handle crises and maintain a secure environment.

Daily Coordination: Provide life skills training, support residents with appointments and daily activities, and ensure all Centerboard policies are followed.

Facility Oversight: Prepare meals, oversee facility cleanliness, and manage safety checks. Conduct fire drills, drug tests, and ensure proper documentation.

Engagement and Advocacy: Build healthy relationships with residents and participate in their support and development through individual and group activities.

Overnight Shift Requirements:

Perform 15-minute checks on all residents, including “body-in-bed” checks and building security.

Maintain facility cleanliness and provide morning transportation.

Stay alert throughout the shift—sleeping or lying down is not permitted.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required; a bachelor’s degree or some college is preferred.

Previous experience working with youth or in a residential setting is helpful.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Willingness to use your personal vehicle when necessary.
