Position Overview:
Direct Care staff at Centerboard’s Youth Service Campus are vital to the treatment team. They provide a safe, structured environment and support youth in managing behavioral and emotional challenges. Staff help teach coping skills, maintain facility safety, and document daily interactions while assisting residents with daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document incidents, interactions, and progress notes
- Respond to crises using Behavior Management Techniques
- Ensure safety and security of residents and the facility
- Support residents with life skills and daily activities (e.g., medical appointments, school, therapy)
- Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, and others
- Cook meals, maintain facility cleanliness, and oversee medication administration
- Conduct room searches, fire drills, and drug tests
- Transport youth to appointments and supervise field trips
- Maintain communication logs and complete required documentation
Additional Duties:
- Ensure smooth transition between shifts and report key information
- Complete necessary training and maintain logs
- Oversee 15-minute resident checks during overnight shifts, maintaining building security and wakefulness
