Position Overview:

Truecraft Drywall & Painting is seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team. Drywall finishing is central to our operations, and we are looking for detail-oriented professionals who can take drywall projects from prefill to final finish with precision and care. Our finishers play a vital role, allowing us to have a near perfect finish to our drywall projects.

You must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel up to 20 miles from Boston. Proficiency in the Levels of Drywall Finish is a key requirement for this role. You might be asked to provide pictures of your work. If you have any please attach those to your email as well for consideration.

Position Requirements:

- At least 2 years of drywall finishing experience or demonstrable equivalent skills.

- Excellent understanding of drywall taping techniques, methods of application, and the different Levels of Drywall Finish.

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.

- Functional knowledge of English with good communication skills.

- High moral character and a commitment to quality.

- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.

- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between project locations.

- Ability to pass drug testing.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Drywall Taping & Finishing

- Perform all phases of drywall finishing: prefill, taping, double coating, flushing, sanding, and touch-ups.

- Achieve high-quality finishes for both smooth and textured surfaces.

- Match patches to existing finishes and apply various texture methods (e.g., spray, hand, roller).

- Work using both hand tools and automatic tools based on project requirements.

- Complete overhead work and operate from benches, scaffolds, and ladders as needed.

- Masking & Surface Protection:

- Protect surrounding areas from dust and debris using plastic sheeting, masking tape, floor coverings, and drop cloths.

- Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout the project.

Job Stocking & Clean-Up:

- Load, unload, and transport supplies between shop, suppliers, and project locations.

- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

- Leave job sites clean and presentable at the end of each workday.

Client & Team Relations:

- Interact professionally with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and teammates.

- Represent Truecraft with kindness and respect in words and actions.

- Direct and train assistants as necessary to ensure job quality.

Other Potential Responsibilities:

- Wallboard Installation: Measure, cut, and install wallboard on walls and ceilings.

- Texturing/Finishing: Apply smooth or textured finishes and match existing finishes as required.

Compensation:

$22–$28/hour, based on experience.
