Responsibilities
Assisting in the Supervision of the production line, including production operations, meeting production schedule and quality requirements, and training all employees.
Assist the Supervisor in monitoring all resources (team members and equipment) to meet production schedule and quality requirements.
Understand customer demand and internal goals and utilize appropriate production schedules to achieve required performance.
Ensure proper training in quality standards, procedures, and methods.
Audit rejects and finished goods to verify inspection performance.
Drive continuous improvement activities in the department.
Review all paperwork to ensure it is complete and thorough.
Create a daily shift note in shared files.
Fill in any and all incidents with equipment on the incident log forms.
Notify line Manager of any issues on your shift with equipment or staff.
Technical
Understand all startup and shutdown procedures.
Understand operation of all equipment in the department.
Ensure that documentation of procedures remains current.
Diagnose equipment or process problems.
Understand clean up procedures.
Personnel Management
Ensure proper training of all staff.
Cross-training as applicable to ensure a deep enough talent pool.
Maintain training records.
Promote and ensure a safe work environment.
Use of PPE.
Lockout / Tagout procedures.
Material handling / chemical exposure.
Preventive Maintenance
Ensure the daily check list has been completed by each shift.
Coordinate PM planning with Maintenance to minimize and make best use of downtime.
Requirements
