Description We are searching for a Property Accountant to join our team. This role is located in Braintree, Massachusetts and will focus on accounting and external financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of properties. The Property Accountant will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the portfolio, which includes both owned and fee-managed market, mixed-use, and affordable multi-family properties.Responsibilities: Record and analyze monthly gross potential rents, loss/gain to lease, and vacancy. Perform monthly account reconciliations and keep supporting analytical schedules up-to-date. Adjust management fees as needed and ensure timely payments of monthly mortgages and quarterly real estate tax payments. Maintain recurring payables and journal entries for each property. Process non-standard or non-recurring payables and journal entries as necessary. Review and analyze monthly general ledger activity, resolve issues with property management personnel, and record any necessary adjustments. Complete month-end closing and prepare periodic reporting packages for lenders and/or investors. Support property management in the preparation of periodic and ad hoc reporting requests from ownership. Prepare year-end audit workpapers for external audit and manage the audit process for your portfolio. Monitor available cash on an ongoing basis and record cash transfers as needed. Follow company policies and procedures at all times. Requirements Demonstrable proficiency in Account Coding is required. Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is a must. Expertise in Yardi, OneSite/RealPage, Appfolio, or MRI is required A solid understanding of comprehensive Accounting Functions is expected. Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed. Previous experience in Auditing is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks concurrently. Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
