Our busy Dermatology practice is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team!Duties: Check patients in/outCollect copayment and deductiblesVerify patient information at the time of booking appointments (Telephone, DOB, PCP, Insurance information)Answer incoming telephone calls, greet, and check in patients in a professional, courteous, and timely mannerUtilize Electronic Medical Record systemAssists physicians by performing administrative and clinical dutiesInterview patients to obtain their medical historyRecords patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical filesCleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instrumentsAssists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materialsCleans treatment rooms following patient examinationsDemonstrate a commitment to maintain work practices that comply with established office policy and proceduresPromote a safe environment for patients, visitors and peersOversee and ensure that patients’ needs are met and that patients are served in an efficient and patient friendly mannerRespond to staff doctor needs before, during, and after patient examsQualifications:Excellent computer skillsAbility to work with confidential information and under pressureStrong communication skillsStrong organizational skillsDemonstrates initiativeTeam playerJob Type:Full-time – Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-12pmExperience:Minimum: 3 to 5 years of work experience in a Medical settingExperience with Electronic Medical Record systemsCandidates that are bilingual in English & Spanish are more competitive in this roleEducation:High School Diploma is requiredCertifications/Licenses:Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Associate degree preferredPay:Pay starts at $20.00 per hour and increases with years of experience
