Deck Manager - MIT Recreation (Cambridge, MA) Part-time, working up to 10 hrs/wk MIT Recreation in Cambridge, MA, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for Deck Managers to join the aquatics team. As the Deck Manager, you will support the Aquatic Director and Aquatic Coordinator in the administration of the Aquatic Center, its staff, programs, and in the coordination of the special events held at the Aquatic Center. You will assume functional responsibility for assisting in day-to-day operations of the Aquatic Center. You will also supervise the administration of informal recreational swimming and diving and building security, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests. What you'll be doing
Serves as a representative for the Aquatic Program, managing phone calls, answering patron questions, facilitating user groups and directing patrons to appropriate staff.
Interprets and assists in the enforcement of policies and procedures of the MIT Recreational Sports Department.
Respond appropriately to any emergency situation.
Serve as Person of Contact as assigned Serve as Building Supervisor as needed
Attend all required staff meetings and training
Other duties as assigned by Aquatic Managers
What you'll need to have
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School diploma or equivalent.
American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
