Job DescriptionSample Control Technician / QC Technician IILocation: Cambridge, MASchedule: Sunday to Wednesday First Shift (7am-5:30pm)At Viral Vector Services (VVS) a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific we deliver, from process development through commercial supply, we offer the expertise and resources vital to help clients deliver innovative gene therapies Placed in the forefront of our leading- and ground breaking Cell and Gene Therapy business enabling clients to cure genetic, rare, and otherwise untreatable diseases.How will you make an impact?The QC Technician will support manufacturing and QC testing labs by handling the delivery, storage and transfer of samples. Samples include release test, backups, retains, client material, and stability samples. The technician will be accountable for the shipment of samples off site for testing and for supporting retain program as required by CFR regulations. Technician will assist other QC activities as needed.What will you do?

Receive, log in and store all samples submitted to the QC laboratory.

Coordinate with other departments for sample-related issues.

Prepare submission paperwork and submission samples to contract testing laboratories in coordination with Shipping department.

Perform laboratory inventories, equipment cleaning and safety gemba walks

Align with written standard operating procedures and detail any deviations that may occur

Maintains and ensures safe laboratory environment and work practices

Coordinate receipt, storage, and delivery of samples to the required testing area.

Coordinate the shipment of samples offsite.

Maintain inventory for all test samples, retain samples and backup samples.

Perform discard activities as appropriate.

Lead all aspects of QC sample storage units.

Maintain all required paperwork per GMP practices. File and Archive data.

Represent the functional group in project meetings and investigations.

Support QC document lifecycle activities.

Maintain QC inventory management.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

1+ years of cGMP environment working experience.

Two years of post-secondary technical education or equivalent in experience.

Experience working in a GMP facility

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Must be meticulous and level-headed to meet target dates.

Ability to work constructively cross-functionally.

Excellent oral/written communication skills.

Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
