Full-Time Seasonal Position Available:

Cook – Snack Bar

The Bass River Yacht Club is a private club located on the Bass River in South Yarmouth, MA. We are seeking an experienced cook to work at our Snack Bar. This is a great opportunity to use your culinary talents while working in a mostly day-time food service position in a relaxed atmosphere.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Prepare lunch for youth sailing school children from a limited snack bar menu from mid-June through mid-August Monday through Friday after sailing lessons.

Prepare lunch (and Sunday Brunch) for approximately 30 club members and guests daily from mid-June through Labor Day weekdays and weekends.

Develop and execute menu and place food orders

Provide guidance on lunch preparation to team of Stewards in the kitchen

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and equipment in compliance with Health Code regulations.

Qualifications:

Experience in the food service industry including menu planning

At least 18 years of age

ServSafe Certification

Ability to stand, walk and lift approximately 25 lbs.

Employment offers are contingent on passing a criminal background check

Compensation: $25 - $30 hour depending on experience.

Schedule: The Snack bar is open between 11:30 and 3:00 daily from mid-June through Labor Day. Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours a week up to full time schedule. Some flexibility on scheduled days but must be available to work most weekends. There are 3 evening member events during the summer that the cook would be asked to work.
