The Rail is looking for a kitchen manager for our 2025 season!
Local family owned breakfast restaurant specializing in Benedicts, House Corned Beef Hash, Pancakes & French Toast!
We are small seasonal restaurant, family owned and operated. This will be our fifth summer of operations and we are looking to expand! We are looking for a hands on kitchen manager to take the reins. The Rail is open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day and weekends only in the shoulder seasons. We close for up to 90 days in the heart of winter. (Be home for the holidays!)
Requirements:
-must have relevant experience running a line or managing a kitchen or have very good recommendations from current employer for promotion
-must have some breakfast experience. Egg cooking skills preferred, especially poaching and pan Omelettes
-must be capable of early mornings (6am start time occasionally required)
-must have Servsafe or be willing to acquire
-must work well with others. Rudeness or aggression of any sort will not be tolerated.
This position can be flexible for the right candidate. Likely duties may include:
-Placing & Receiving orders (bread order, produce/dairy, broadliner)
-Assessing walk in/line inventory and building the daily prep list
-Executing Prep list with help of kitchen crew
-Curation of Daily Specials with a focus on using available inventory and managing food cost
-Executing Breakfast Service with kitchen crew following current menu protocols
-Scheduling of Kitchen Staff
