All current and newly hired employees are required to follow onsite safety measures based upon the COVID-19 Community Level at the specific work location.Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking to hire a Senior Project Engineer to support the operations of the Engineering and Technology (E&T) department in Chelmsford MA. This role will directly support the E&T Senior Leader and over 100 multi-discipline engineers in day-to-day office operations. The Project Engineer’s primary duties include developing budget requests and plans for department overhead and capital equipment, executing the plans throughout the year by submitting capital projects and supporting the purchasing of materials, and providing regular reporting and analysis on overhead and capital status. Strong written communication skills are necessary for capital project execution. The ideal candidate will not only be able to operate tools developed to track and report budget and labor information but can also evolve and improve them over time.Duties include manpower analysis and staffing planning, developing a consolidated annual training plan, providing support across the organization related to acquiring material for lab and program applications and utilizing tools such as SAP to monitor purchase orders and reconcile purchase transactions. The Project Engineer will work closely with Program leads, Engineering Planner, Engineers and lab personnel to identify plan and execute material purchases to support programs and the department.Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.We offer a continuous learning environment with strong career growth and advancement opportunities.Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for this exciting position.The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree with at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent experience/combined education. Experience defining and executing projects from beginning to end. Includes developing a plan, rationale, developing cost estimates, defending project through approvals. Includes executing project, acquiring material, coordinating with other project stakeholders, and communicating project status. Proficient data reporting skills- MS Excel, Tableau Demonstrated strong persuasive writing skill Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction once a task is clearly communicated and understood Demonstrated communication skills in team environment (verbal, written, and presentation) Candidate must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance and obtain an interim secret security clearance before starting the position.Desired Skills: Graduate degree Experience using tableau, Excel or other data tools to develop repeatable processes for data cleaning, manipulation, and filtering for reports Experience with specialized application software SAP Experience working in a defense company with engineering or manufacturing background Familiarity with functionality of basic electronic componentsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
