Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Milford, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be engaged in a variety of financial reporting and management activities related to our non-profit organization. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurate and timely completion of monthly financial reporting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget to actual analysis. Oversee cash management activities and ensure timely reconciliations with bank. Review and ensure proper coding and approval of accounts payable invoices. Record, analyze, and monitor bi-weekly payroll. Prepare and report monthly accounts receivable to banks. Manage contract and lease renewals, amendments, and other schedules as required by funding sources. Prepare materials necessary for audits, tax returns, and other reports as required by CPA firm. Ensure timely preparation of annual reports, certificates of good standing, government surveys, and other reports as required. Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budget. Renew insurance policies for client companies. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO. Requirements Must possess proven skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary Should be proficient in maintaining and managing the General Ledger The ability to handle Journal Entries accurately and efficiently Must have experience in managing Month End Close procedures A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required Relevant work experience in the non-profit sector is preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Must adhere to the highest principles of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
