RESPONSIBILITIES:The Transportation Supervisor will be the direct supervisor of the drivers. Supervision of the driving workforce will be done one on one, as well as in groups. This position will assist and conduct hiring, training, and disciplining of drivers. The primary objective is to assist the driving workforce in picking up empty bottles and cans at the retail customer locations. This must be accomplished in the most productive and cost effective manner possible. This person will work closely with the transportation manager, dispatcher, and driver workforce.Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:Conduct pre-shift meetings for driver workforceCommunicating with other departments supervisors and managersProvide summaries to dispatcherIdentify driver issues and provide corrective actionsReport drivers over 10 hours to GM on daily basisUpdate customer informationRecommend operational improvements, including route changesReview key operating indicatorsProvide daily production report to General ManagerManage, evaluate, engage team driversDOT/OSHA complianceAll daily Payroll functionsValidate equipment within our commercial vehicles is active and compliantWork with safety manager to identify drivers for risk based on vehicle dataEnsures DOT requirements are metEnsures physicals and randoms are completed as requiredMaintain all DOT files and logs
