Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.Position Purpose: Inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations. Is fully qualified to perform the most complex functions and may lead the work of others.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Lead the preventive/predictive maintenance program and apply it in collaboration with management.Collaborate closely with the Operations and Maintenance technicians to keep maintenance schedules and tasks up to date in accordance with laws, regulations, standards and best practices.Ensure the development and implementation of maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, etc.) on new equipment.Procure parts and materials needed for asset maintenance projects.Automate reports according to contractual requirements and create reports for ad hoc needs.Analyze and follow up on performance indicators with the various department managers.Provide training on the computerized maintenance management system (VAMS) to employees, as needed.Propose solutions to optimize or increase the efficiency, performance and lifespan of equipment.May assist in other areas of the plant as directed.Work Environment:Spends 100% of time in an operations environment.Typically spends 25 – 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.Company service vehicles are used as required.Travels 1 – 2 times per year for company provided training.May serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call.Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible operations hazards including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure and hot and cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
