Job Role: Data Analyst II
Location: Waltham, MA 02451
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of extension)
Job Description: Remote but Required to work EST time zone and preferable available for in person meetings when required.
Job Purpose: The Data Analyst will bring meaning and insights to data - helping our stakeholders get the most value out of their data. In this role you will be responsible for pulling and aggregating data from multiple disparate systems, building and supporting enterprise level BI and Analytic solutions that will enable business users to make informed business decisions and help foster a data driven culture. The individual will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, consulting as the data subject matter expert, design and develop reports and dashboards, create and execute ad-hoc queries against various data sources including the Enterprise Data Platform.
The Analyst will leverage best practices in UI/UX for data visualizations and create relevant, innovative and impactful dashboards working in an iterative manner as part of an agile project team. This role will combine the knowledge of the Agile Release Train data with comprehensive analytics skills to deliver delivery insights to our stakeholders. The resource will additionally provide support for the Data Analytics toolset, including administrative activities and end-user support.
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:
Examine, evaluate, and develop reporting requirements for various business areas; develop reports and reporting structures as required
Design and build dashboards/analytics/reports/burndowns/etc. against various data sources (database, SharePoint, excel)
Provide support for existing outputs; work with the user to identify issues and manage the resolution
Hands on experience with Power BI, including experience as a Power BI administrator, including but not limited to creating and administering Work spaces to control permissions and access to PBI dashboards
Experience with migrating reports / dashboards from other platforms
Working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Experience and understanding of databases, data modeling, data architecture design, and leveraging small- and large-scale data ingestion from multiple complex data sources
Conducts analysis and gathers requirements
Leverages best practices in UI/UX and design
Participates in support, training, and community events as needed
Experience working within Agile delivery teams
Experience with burndown reporting and metric reporting
Mentor junior resources in all aspects of visualization deployment
Work within Company's Solution Delivery Framework guidelines
Work within assigned timelines, notifying the manager of any anomalies
Gathers requirements using interviews, documents analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
Analyzes, documents, communicates, and validates business and system requirements
Knowledge of various deployment and hosting environments and platforms (On Premise, Cloud, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, MS Azure, and AWS)
Knowledge of basic Security concepts and design practices
Knowledge of the Data Management and Reporting techniques
Familiar with infrastructure delivery and software development a plus
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or an analytical field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience designing and developing dashboard solutions
Knowledge of data structures and data transformations required to support visualizations
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with great attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and solve complex problems
Knowledge of business analysis techniques, tools and requirements gathering.
Knowledge of integration techniques.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are required
Good stakeholder management and influencing skills at project stakeholder level.
Ability to multi-task.
Highly Desirable:
Working knowledge of / experience with Digital Platforms and development tools
Current experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies (SAFe experience is highly desirable)
Exposure to Process Automation a plus.
