Job Overview
Our manufacturing department works a four-day work week with ten hour days. Monday-Thursday 5:30am-3:30pm. We are looking for an experienced printing press operator to work directly with our existing print team. Familiarity with printing practices, printing machinery, plates, blankets, inks and coatings are needed. Knowledge of paperboard and packaging would be useful skills.
Duties
Set up and operate printing presses according to specifications and production requirements.
Monitor the printing process to ensure quality standards are met, making adjustments as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press equipment to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the graphic design team to ensure accurate color management and adherence to design specifications.
Conduct prepress checks, including reviewing proofs for accuracy in typography and layout.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and best practices.
Skills
Proficiency in machining techniques related to press operation.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for design adjustments and prepress tasks.
Strong understanding of typography principles and their application in print media.
Experience with screen printing processes is a plus.
Knowledge of CNC operations for precision tasks may be beneficial.
Expertise in color management techniques to ensure print quality consistency.
Ability to operate forklifts safely for material handling within the production area.
Graphic design experience is advantageous for collaborating with creative teams.
