Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in WORCESTER, Massachusetts. This role is within the Non-Profit industry and involves supervising the monthly financial close process and aiding the CFO in various financial tasks. This role will also be responsible for managing third-party contract billing, childcare parent billing, and other accounting functions.Responsibilities: Supervise and oversee the daily deposit of checks received and update of cash flow spreadsheet. Manage weekly AP check runs and import payroll entries to the general ledger. Oversee the preparation of monthly third-party contract billing and childcare contract billing. Handle the preparation and recording of monthly closing entries. Supervise the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and research and resolve all inquiries regarding general ledger transactions. Prepare and analyze monthly revenue and expense financial statements and reports. Oversee the distribution of monthly financial reports to department directors. Handle the preparation of Weekly childcare parent billing and Transitional Housing Program billing. Research childcare parent account inquiries and assist in maintaining childcare billing system. Assist CFO with contract amendments, preparation for monthly Finance Committee meetings, and preparation of the annual operating budget. Assist CFO with the annual independent audit. Provide backup support for front desk as needed. Cross-train and be capable of completing the duties of the Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerk in their absence. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Thorough understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge in Auditing processes Familiarity with Billing Functions Experience in Budgeting and Financial Analysis Ability to perform Forecasting tasks Proficiency in Month End Close procedures Experience in preparing Monthly Statements Understanding of US GAAP standards Previous experience in a similar role within the Non-Profit sector Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.
