Sr Product Owner

Description This Sr. Product Owner role plays a key role in visualizing, delivering, and overseeing the success of information technology products aligned with the strategic and tactical business plans. Through collaboration with engineering teams and clients, you'll ensure products address customer requirements, set expectations, and achieve customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:

Product Vision and Delivery: Work with engineering to visualize and deliver IT solutions that fulfill the product vision and contribute to organizational goals.

Scrum Framework Lead: Develop, adapt, and facilitate the scrum framework throughout the product lifecycle, managing the backlog and leading release plans.

Scrum Education and Best Practices: Educate clients, scrum teams, and other product owners on scrum best practices, ensuring a consistent and effective framework across the organization.

Strategic Collaboration: Actively engage with other product owners and scrum masters to develop comprehensive IT product and service development strategies.

Software Acquisition and Management: Lead the acquisition of necessary software, products, and services for clients.

Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the backlog of user stories and defects, ensuring meaningful, realistic, and attainable work for development teams.

Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and document development activities for large-scale, high-visibility projects, adapting to varying scopes and business units.

Communication and Facilitation: Facilitate communication of sprints, releases, budgets, issues, and relevant information to stakeholders.

Delivery Optimization: Evaluate activities for maximum business value and make strategic decisions during sprint planning.

Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with steering committees, sponsors, customers, functional managers, and project teams.

Motivation and Leadership: Empower scrum teams with clear goals, driving sustainable maximum velocity and addressing concerns during sprints.

Agile Development Expertise: Collaborate with development teams to commit backlog items to sprints and participate in post-live retrospectives to identify improvement areas.

Value Advocacy: Champion the value of product releases at the team level and ensure stakeholder alignment on objectives, scope, and deliverables.

Additional Duties: Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management technology, or equivalent experience.

6+ years of IT experience.

4+ years of experience as a primary product owner for agile/scrum teams.

Ability to partner and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.

Excellent organizational skills, managing multiple products and clients concurrently.

Delegation skills and a proven track record of delivering on commitments.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with IT staff, clients, executives, and vendors.

Demonstrated knowledge of scrum tracking tools like Team Foundation Services and other supporting software.

Ability to lead scrum teams, sprint planning meetings, and client review sessions.

Product-level understanding of user needs, market dynamics, competition, and future trends in the relevant domain.

Positive attitude and creativity in problem-solving.

Passion for customer needs and product development.

Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Scrum Product Owner certification.

Experience implementing 3rd party business applications.

Experience managing large enterprise projects.

Experience in higher education and healthcare automation.
