Pleasant View Nursery is seeking a full time staff member to join our family business to facilitate and manage everyday operations. This position requires extensive plant knowledge and experience in the horticulture and garden center industry. Job responsibilities as follows:
Researching, ordering and tracking plant inventory, contacting growers, coordinating deliveries, unloading plant material, tagging new arrivals
Coordinating plant orders for special landscaping projects
Plan and execute nursery sale events
Display set-up for gift shop and plant displays
Customer sales including both retail and wholesale, tracking of wholesale landscaper accounts, coordinating special orders, answering phone and email requests, taking and sending in-stock plant material photos to send to customers
Ability to recommend solutions to customers for plants, fertilizers, and soils
Daily Plant Care
Designing, creating, and planting container arrangements
Able to lift 50 lbs
Operate tractor and other special equipment as needed
Drivers license mandatory
Able and willing to photograph displays and post new information on website and social media
Development of social media marketing strategy to increase retail sales
Travel to trade shows and purchase material as needed
Basic computer skills required for emailing and Microsoft word documents
Prior experience with Quickbooks, photo-editing, and point of sale systems highly desirable
Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple assignments, be great with customers, a team player, able to operate while proactively reaching out to find solutions, have excellent attention to detail, and maintain a level of professionalism while giving our customers the small business family experience.
This is a 40+ hours a week full-time position from April thru end of December with some support through winter months. We are open to discussing exact hours and schedule with the right candidate but anticipate weekends will be part of required schedule.
