The role will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. The Fabricator I (Metal) will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.As a Fabricator I, you will be responsible for:
Welding instrumentation, exhaust tubes, and bosses
Preparingmetal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Participatingin daily shop organization and clean-up
To be considered a Fabricator I, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge and ability to use Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld
Good communication skills and detail oriented
Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma Cutter and Oxy-Fuel Torch to cut out material
Must have your own tools and rolling toolbox
A successful candidate may also have:
Certificate in Welding Technology or related field
Ability to work overtime and weekends
