Provide management oversight/supervision for the radiation protection non-exempt staff to include field supervision, performance appraisal, and personnel development.
Supervise the monitoring of plant radiological conditions, including the performance of routine and special surveys of radiation, contamination, and airborne radioactivity.
Maintain records of plant surveys and conditions and disseminate the results to other plant personnel as necessary.
Direct the purchase, inspection, and calibration of radiation detection instrumentation.
Maintain individual personnel records of exposure to radiation, internal contamination, and airborne radioactivity and distribute the information to plant supervisory personnel as necessary for use in planning and scheduling radiation work.
Supervise the inspection and calibration of radiation detection instrumentation.
Review and revise radiation protection and equipment operating procedures as required.
Reference Key Roles and Responsibilities as defined in document INPO 04-003 "Guidelines for Effective Nuclear Supervisor Performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education:
High school diploma or GED, however a bachelor's degree in health physics or a related science is preferred.
Work Experience:
Five years of relevant Nuclear Power Plant experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demand level is Sedentary
Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C.
