Job Title: Quality Assurance Laboratory TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to join our team. The role requires working from 6pm to 6:30am on a 2-2-3 schedule, also known as a Pitman Schedule, which rotates weekly. Approximately 75% of your time will be spent on the manufacturing floor and 25% in the laboratory performing various testing tasks. Your day will start by checking emails and reviewing a list of tasks. Responsibilities include swabbing machinery for contamination, antibiotic testing, running samples, and performing line checks. The testing involves using machinery that provides results in 2-3 minutes. A life science degree is essential to understand the scientific basis of these tests. You will conduct microbiological evaluations of all raw, pasteurized, and final products, operate equipment such as spectrometer, FTIR analyzer, moisture analyzer, and pH meter, perform daily quality audits, document findings, and notify supervisors of any unusual results or product defects. Additionally, you will lift 50 lb bags of raw materials and boxes multiple times per shift, and commute across the manufacturing floor.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Coopersville, Michigan.Work EnvironmentYou will work in a state-of-the-art USDA-regulated laboratory and manufacturing floor. The role requires spending 25% of your time in the lab and 75% on the floor, collecting samples and communicating with all levels of staff. The facility is very clean, and all employees must wash hands and change shoes before entering certain areas. Locker rooms and showers are available on-site. Dress code is casual but requires closed-toe shoes. You will be part of a close-knit team working with 4-5 other people.
