Instructor - General Employee Training (GET) Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a General Employee Training Instructor to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI. JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE This position ensures workers meet initial and continuing General Employee Training (GET) training requirements for entry into a commercial nuclear facility in accordance with procedures, commitments, industry, and regulatory requirements. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The GET instructor is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating trainee and program performance using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process. Much of in-processing training is driven by industry standard training materials; however, there are site specific training elements requiring this individual to acquire various other knowledge and skills to successfully implement the GET program. This individual must be a self-starter, flexible, focused and highly motivated to administer and coordinate in-processing training, especially during outages where hundreds of workers with various skillsets/trades are in-processed. Must s upport station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and various other projects. This GET instructor is also required to participate in instructional continuing training. Must participate in management assessments. Must ensure training records are complete, accurate and auditable. Demonstrates leadership by upholding high standards for performance in all training settings. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Nuclear (preferable) or other related industry experience as a GET instructor. Knowledge of and experience using the systematic approach to training (SAT) process. Good interpersonal skills, effective writing and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to instruct. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Minimum education required of the position: High School diploma or equivalent or a ssociate’s/bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, physics, etc., with four years of nuclear (preferable) or other related industry work experience. Minimum experience required of the position: Four years nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) desirable. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position: Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position: SRO license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
