Job Title: Regional Optometric AssistantJob DescriptionResponsible for assisting the Optometrist with providing a thorough visual examination by performing preliminary testing, support duties, and post-exam follow-up. Duties include taking the patient back, administering a specific series of tests, recording results, and preparing the patient for the physician. You will also document patient medications, pre-set the phoroptor, escort patients out of exam rooms, set up recalls, and transfer authority to eyewear consultants. Typical patient volume ranges from 10 to 25 per day. Note that there is a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.Testing includes visual preliminary testing, visual screening, blood pressure, tonometer, auto refraction, and auto testing.Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 6:45pm and Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm.South Region Dearborn Westland Taylor Monroe Detroit Main Campus Detroit Renaissance Center Grosse Pointe Plymouth Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position that can and is expected to float amongst the locations listed. The team maintains a professional working environment with no cell phone usage on the floor, no random breaks, and no socializing during customer hours. The culture discourages gossip and promotes a tight-knit environment. Approximately 30 people work at each location, with about 7 Assistants on the schedule.
