Accountant Manager
Position: As a key member of the Management team, the Senior Accountant will report to the Owner and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Senior Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related and human resource activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, AP/AR, payroll, insurance management, health insurance management, new employee onboarding, employee benefit management. We use Netsuite Software for all accounting purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily credit card and/or accounting entries made by accounting staff
Reconciliation of corporate credit card statements
Responsible for daily banking entries, key person to scrutinize debits, and daily reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
Reconciliation of multiple monthly banking statements
Research, source, and administer corporate insurance policies
Accounts Payable entries, payments, and payment requests and includes monitoring of the Accounts Payable specific email
Manage and direct office personnel
Responsible for all Human Resources functions including new hire paperwork, company health insurance, employee tracking of vacation, personal, and time off requests as well as employment review reminders, pay increases, and various other human resources tasks
Liaison between multiple office/corporate vendors such as IT, telephones, internet, copier/duplicating company, health insurance, corporate insurance, and cellular/GPS services.
Completion of weekly payroll including verification of hours/job costing, processing timesheets, submitting payroll to Intuit, and processing paychecks.
Responsible for entering all office and subcontractor invoices, verification of purchase orders, and estimates to ensure accuracy of the billings
Work directly with the CPA firm to complete yearly tax returns
Completion of financial statements as requested but especially during year-end tax review
Monitoring chart of accounts
Responsible for payroll tax updates
Manage corporate vehicles including yearly registrations, new vehicle purchases, insurance updates, and maintaining all maintenance records
Processing all incoming payments/deposits
Oversee all Worker’s Compensation cases for injured employees
Administer all documentation for yearly insurance audit including processing payroll reports, subcontractor reports, insurance certificate reviews, and job information
Submit all information for Intuit to complete 941 and other payroll reports on a quarterly basis
Work directly with Project Managers to establish accuracy in payroll hours, invoices, payments, and billings.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as Controller in a construction office (preferred); minimum 3 years of experience
Payroll and Digital Time Tracking experience
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deadline and detail-oriented, strong follow-up skills
Team player
Ability to multi-task efficiently
