Nelco Supply Company is a facility supply distributor located in Pontiac and has an opening for a person with exceptional people skills performing inside sales as a backup to the owner who performs outside account development.
This position involves answering incoming calls from customers and prospective sales inquiries, taking orders via phone, email and the Nelco Ordering App. You would work with the warehouse manager and delivery driver to make sure orders are delivered on pre-set delivery routes. Evaluating customer sales history/ordering patterns is key to maintaining/increasing our sales volume. Internet marketing skills are required as we reach out to our customer base via Constant Contact which involves creative talent. You should know Microsoft Word, Excell, Publisher along with other creative programs and have excellent grammar.
We are open 8am-4:30pm, M-F with a 30 minute lunch break. If you need a longer lunch break you could start work at 7:30 and take 1 hour for a lunch break. The starting pay for this position is $45,000. We pay 50% of health insurance premiums via Priority Health and paid holidays (7-9 days/year), both of these benefits start the 1st of the month after 60 days of work. If you do not require health insurance your annual salary would increase by $1,000 on the first of the month after 60 days of employment. We maintain a “time off bank” where you receive 24 hours of time off after 6 months and 40 hours is earned annually.
If you have a background with any type of facility maintenance or janitorial work that would be beneficial in terms of understanding the needs of our customers. Our main product focus is janitorial maintenance supplies followed by safety protection, and foodservice disposable items. It is important that you live no farther than 20 minutes from Pontiac, MI to reduce commute-related delays. We only employ non-smokers and you must pass a background check and be accepted by our insurance company. (No criminal history or unsatisfactory driving record) Limited outside sales work is a possibility….we focus on enhancing your strengths that benefit the Company. This is not an entry level position.
