Counterperson – Outdoor Power Equipment Shop (Full-Time)
Modern Mower – Sterling Heights, MI
We’re hiring a full-time Counterperson to help customers, answer phones, write up service tickets, take payments, and keep things moving at a fast, friendly repair shop.
You’ll be the first point of contact for customers dropping off lawnmowers, snowblowers, and small equipment. No experience with engines required — we’ll teach you what matters. Strong people skills and reliability matter more than anything.
What you’ll do:
Greet customers and check in equipment
Write service tickets (our system makes this easy)
Take payments and close out invoices
Answer phone calls and schedule equipment drop-offs
Keep the counter area organized
Light clerical/organizational tasks
Assist with loading and unloading of customers equipment
What we’re looking for:
Reliable, on time, steady
Good with people (friendly, calm under pressure)
Comfortable with computers/tablets
Able to learn the basics of equipment check-in
No mechanical experience required, but helpful
Must be able to stand for parts of the day
Must be able to lift and move up to 40 Lbs.
Hours:
We are open 9 -6 Monday through Friday. Full-time, daytime, consistent schedule
(No nights, no Sundays)
Pay:
$18 hr to start.
