Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to work full-time to implement manufacturing processes that result in timely and high-quality metal products. You need to have an engineering degree, knowledge of tool design and be proficient in a variety of manufacturing methods. Other necessary manufacturing engineer skills include project management ability, and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

Evaluate manufacturing processes based on drawing criteria

Confirm factory has the proper production and machine requirements

Coordinate with team to optimize designs for manufacturability

Overall metallurgical knowledge in steel alloys, nonferrous, aluminum alloys, exotic materials etc.

Resolve issues and delays that may come up during outsourced supplier’s production

Quality assurance and inspection skills are mandatory

Make sure sample and production parts conform to drawings

Collaborate with sales team, engineers, third-party inspectors, clients, and suppliers

Complete Change Orders, Return Merchandise Authorizations, and Corrective Action documents

Implement metrics to measure vendor performance and effectiveness scorecard, providing vendors with frequent actionable feedback, and keeping vendors to account on required improvements

Manage project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize production processes

Requirements and skills

Fluent in English, knowledge of Hindi language is a plus

Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering

Good communication skills – verbal and written

Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, fabrication methods and tool design

Familiarity with quality assurance techniques

Project management skills

Problem-solving ability

Teamwork skills

Able to self-manage your time and priorities

Availability Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm eastern standard time

Possession of valid passport, ability to visit suppliers in India

Proficiency

CAD software

Balloon Drawing Software

Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.

MIL-STD-105D

Read and develop inspection reports

Extensive knowledge of PPAP document

Any other relevant software tools for design, analysis, and simulation
