Job DescriptionNOTE: THIS IS A MEDC CORPORATE POSITION - THIS IS NOT A STATE OF MICHIGAN CLASSIFIED POSITION. This student will provide technical and administrative support for the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) team. Duties will include working closely with the OFME team to contribute to projects aimed at promoting mobility and economic vitality throughout the state of Michigan. This includes, but is not limited to: supporting the MI Future Mobility Plan, the Mobility Futures Initiative, and the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform (MMFP), as well as understanding community and industry mobility needs and trends.The Student Assistant will dive deep into the implications of technology on industry and local communities, especially how it pertains to Michigan's place in the changing automotive and mobility landscape. They will have the ability to do tech scouting, corporate venture research and evaluations of key industry players, all while keeping an eye/monitoring new and existing policies and community initiatives that are emerging in support of the change to connected, autonomous, and electric vehicles.View the full position descriptionHERE (http://MCSC.state.mi.us/AgencyPDFs/MEDC%20Student%20Assistant%20-%20Position%20Description%20-%20OFME.pdf) Note:Funding for this student position is approved through May 2025. There is a possibility for extension beyond that date, but there is no guarantee. Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Current enrollment in a college or university degree or certificate program specific to the area of opportunity or a related general field. Preferred majors: Business, Marketing, and/or Economics, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related general field. Experience:No specific type or amount is required. Alternate Education and ExperienceAdditional Requirements and InformationThe student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution. THIS IS A MEDC CORPORATE POSITION - THIS IS NOT A STATE OF MICHIGAN CLASSIFIED POSITION. Note: Employees who are employed in the Student Assistant classification are limited to working no more than 129 hours per calendar month.
