OPERATING ROOM CLERK- FULL TIME DAYS SHIFT: 9:30-6P GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, provides service support for assigned area(s) related to clerical support functions. Duties include but not limited to maintaining O.R. Master schedule, inputting and maintaining SIS grid and PEMS, receiving incoming phone calls, providing information to callers, relaying messages, ordering necessary paperwork and office supplies as delegated, assist with preventative maintenance, and assumes accountability for all aspects of clerical functions. High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Ability to communicate effectively with others in the work environment; must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Computer skills required.

Successful completion of 120-day introductory period required to achieve knowledge of policies relative to job duties and patient care unit.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting supplies and equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in patient care area environment which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, and hazardous gases.
