BestChoice is Henry Ford Health System’s internal staffing resource pool, designed to ensure there is sufficient staffing throughout our health system. BestChoice provides a proactive solution to unplanned or short-term staffing needs due to vacations, unscheduled absences, leave of absences, increases in census or acuity. BestChoice employees are Henry Ford Health System contingent staff and experience the same new employee screening, orientation, education and competency standards, alongside all Henry Ford Health System team members.The NICU RN will be responsible for the following:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team
Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED:
Current license by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Three years of recent experience in a Special Care Nursery/NICU
