The caregiver for my autistic sister decided to quit last minute, and I need someone to just stay with her while I'm at work. You're not expected to do anything, but you're more than welcome to do any fun activities with her. My sister is 33 years old and is highly autistic. With her being echolalic, she mostly repeats what others say. She loves to spell out what she writes and watch movies in the living room. Other than that, she's usually on the computer or taking a nap in her room.
We're in the process of finding a group home for her to stay permanently, and there's one in Ortonville where she is starting out with short visits. So you could be with her from 8 am-5 pm at home, or you'd be with her half a day and then drop her off at the group home. You'll be paid the same for each day, regardless.
This job lasts as long as it takes until a new caregiver has been found. The pay rate as her caregiver is $21.50 an hour. If you're also interested, we can discuss the details during the first interview. If I like how you work with my sister and think you'll be a better fit, then I'll just hire you on the spot. If you're not interested, then your pay will be $40/day, 5 days a week, 8 am-5 pm.
Please don't inquire about the caregiver position here. I already have a post up specifically for that.
When applying, please state your full name, age, what city you'll be commuting from, email, and phone number. You can start as early as this Friday, depending on the time of your interview. Good luck!
