Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of the food service industry. This role involves creating delicious meals, ensuring food safety, and contributing to menu planning. The Cook will work closely with the dietary department to meet the nutritional needs of our clients while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Assist in menu planning, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.
Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with the dietary aide and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Maintain a positive working environment by communicating effectively with team members.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation or as a Cook in a restaurant or similar setting.
Knowledge of food service operations, including meal preparation and menu planning.
Familiarity with dietary needs and nutrition is preferred, particularly in a dietary department setting.
Strong knife skills and ability to operate kitchen equipment safely.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
