We're looking for a caregiver who's experienced in providing care for adults with mental disabilities. Brittany is a 33 year old adult female who was removed out of her dad's care due to the allegations of abuse and neglect being evident.
About Brittany
- Is highly autistic and is dependent on the support of others.
-She's able to walk, brush her teeth, shower, and change clothes. The only thing is that she would need help with wiping properly (can do it herself with guidance).
-She has lived most of her life locked inside her home 10+ hours a day. This has resulted in her being easily overstimulated when confronted with new things and places.
-She's echolalic, meaning that she repeats what others say.
Daily Tasks Include.
-making meals
-providing morning medication
-helping with hygienic needs like showering, brushing teeth, and toilet use
-changing clothes
-interaction with fun activities (playing games, puzzles, cooking/baking, ect)
-outside activities (nature walks, movies, shopping, groceries, museums, ect)
IMPORTANT
1. Must take training classes (paid by Easterseals)
training can be completed within a certain time frame, the applicant can begin work before receiving certifications.
2. Applicant must have a vehicle to provide transportation
3. Is capable of handling tantrums
4. Is required to document daily logs for the Easterseals/MORC case worker
5. Smoking Is Not Permitted
Before being relocated, she had a long history of being violent and emotionally unstable. She was physically and mentally abused for many years, so it'll take time for her to adjust to life outside of that. Thankfully, with the help of adjusting her medications, providing a healthier diet, and is now given the love and care she deserves, she has never been happier.
