About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Working Shop Foreman to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor. This role blends hands-on mechanical work with fleet oversight, shop supervision, and Fullbay system management. You’ll oversee 2 mechanics and manage maintenance for a fleet of 34 semi-trucks and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and assign work to shop mechanics
Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Manage all work orders, parts tracking, and labor logs via Fullbay
Coordinate parts purchases and vendor orders
Monitor PM schedules and ensure fleet compliance
Maintain shop organization and enforce safety standards
Provide weekly maintenance reports to ownership
Must be able to travel to and from Canada when needed
Requirements:
5+ years experience as a diesel mechanic or shop foreman
Strong understanding of truck and trailer maintenance
Familiarity with Fullbay or other shop management platforms (preferred)
Self-motivated and able to lead a small team effectively
Must have valid passport or enhanced license to legally cross into Canada
Provide W9 documentation; liability insurance preferred
Must have own tools
