The Bluestone Construction Group has immediate openings for experienced Carpenter Foreman in the Metropolitan Detroit area.

Employment Type: Full-Time

BONUS: $2000.00 cash bonus paid after successful completion of 90 day probationary period

Compensation: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour base pay

As a Bluestone Carpenter you will with dedicated team members to erect, install and repair structures of metal stud, wood stud, plywood, sheathings, insulation, drywall and acoustical treatments making sure they conform to the local building code and have fun doing it.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Schedule and plan work activities for the group ensuring proper manning space, performance of duties and distribution of assignments.

- Possess knowledge of safe work practices including safety precautions while operating power equipment, working in high traffic areas and under hazardous conditions.

- Perform inspection of completed work to ensure compliance with blueprints and specifications.

- Complete understanding and ability to install interior and exterior carpentry including but not limited to metal studs, drywall, insulation, doors and hardware and acoustical treatments.

- Monitor and enforce jobsite safety related to site operations including daily JSAs and weekly toolbox talks.

- Proficient in use of Procore, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

- Plan for work sequencing prior to starting work, including daily field report and meetings with personnel.

- Ensure proper use and possess the ability to use Bluestone tools and equipment including ladders, power tools, scaffolding, heavy equipment including rented equipment, bracing, handrails and scaffolding systems.

- Coordinate with other trades so as not to cause schedule delays.

- Ability to quickly resolve scheduling conflicts and project delays.

- Receive and properly account for all equipment, tool and material deliveries.

- Generate Additional Work Authorizations and other required reports.

- Keep daily job reports.

- Participate in all project meetings, self-perform meetings, and report meeting minutes.

- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ Years of Carpentry Experience with extensive knowledge and skills in carpentry including supervision or lead experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience

- High School diploma or GED

- Knowledge and understanding of architectural, structural and mechanical drawings including shop drawings and diagrams

- Ability to identify schedule conflicts and ability to implement modifications

- Full working knowledge of layout, set up of control and benchmark lines, level and laser level

- Ability to work with others including the coordination and scheduling of work and ability to give clear instruction while providing leadership

- Understand means and methods and tools involved in construction

- Ability to work safely without threat to others

- Ability to establish good working relationships with all parties involved in a project

- Available/Willing to work Overtime

- Current valid driver’s license

- Available/Willing to travel out of town at times

- Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams

- Experience working with equipment such as SkyTrak, boom lifts, and scissor lifts

Essential Physical & Cognitive Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

- Ability to multi-task

- Work of a variety of weather conditions in an outdoor environment

- Continuous lifting, pushing and pulling of objects

- Good physical fitness, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance
