Job Description:
We are looking for a Building Engineer to take on the responsibility to improve and maintain our commercial buildings. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks such as painting, HVAC, electrical and plumbing. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and responsibly by observing safety guidelines while operating equipment.
DUTIES: The Building Engineer is responsible for all building maintenance including overseeing/assisting construction trades, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, snow removal, grounds, fire suppression and basic cleaning as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair NATURAL GAS mechanical systems (HVAC unit heaters, radiant tube heaters, forced air furnaces, thermostat controls, etc)
- Perform maintenance of electrical equipment (replace or install light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, clean/repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
- Manage/maintain fire suppression systems (inspect/operate alarms, pumps, low-point drains, report issues needing professional repair)
- Perform manual repairs as needed (fix leaking faucets, toilets, roof drains, floor drains, light fixtures, service doors, overhead doors, fencing, gates, windows, signage, etc)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (landscaping, regular trash removal ‘grounds’) and other tasks assigned such as painting, carpentry, etc.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 3 years experience as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician
- Experience operating/maintaining fire suppression systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of hand tools, electric tools, landscaping tools
- Experience operating/maintaining scissor lift, boom lift and Hilo
- Good physical condition and strength, willingness to work overtime

- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Good communication and problem solving skills
