Our team at Spray Booth Products needs to expand! Our crews install, maintain, and repair all the elements of our commercial air movement systems (machinery and other equipment, physical structures, piping and electrical systems). We primarily need help with the service and repair side. A Service Technician on our team will spend the majority of their time doing the following:
Preventative Maintenance
Oil changes, filter changes, other recurring PM work
Service & Troubleshooting
This is the majority of the job
You'll troubleshoot:
Heating elements
Air movement - Fans, blowers, motors
Gas lines
Electrical (both power supply and internal electronics - looking at schematics, relays)
When we install a Spray Booth, we are responsible for all of the following:
Running power supply
Installing ductwork
Assembling spray booth enclosures
Machinery install and calibration (compressors, blower motors, fan motors)
Temperature control elements (thermostats, heaters)
The Service Technician is NOT on the install teams, but you could be called to service any element of previously installed Spray Booths.
Useful Knowledge and Experience (experience in all of the following is a huge plus):
Electrical - construction/building electrical (power supply via conduit, wire, panels)
HVAC - commercial especially, refrigeration experience/certification a big plus
Electrical maintenance - machinery, schematics, panels, machinery wiring
Pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical components
Commercial Carpentry (steel framing, windows, caulking, hanging steel doors)
Our crews typically dispatch from our shop in Redford, in company vehicles - time on the road is on the clock and in a company vehicle.
The core schedule for our install teams is Mon-Thurs (4-day work-week), 7 am - 5:30 pm (10 hour days). However, we are looking for this Service Technician to work Tuesday-Friday, on a 4x10 schedule. There is some opportunity for overtime, if you are interested in getting 5-10 hrs/week at time-and-a-half.
We currently have about 15 employees on our team, and have been in business about 17 years.
These positions are direct hire, full time, W2 positions - you'll be eligible for our health insurance, paid time off + holidays, 401k with match, and annual bonuses. After 30-90 days of onboarding and training, this Service Tech will be given a company vehicle. Once you're up to speed and taking the van home, some days (probably at least half your work days) you'll be able to dispatch directly from home, rather than coming into the shop to get the van and/or other tools and materials.\
We're expecting to pay somewhere between $26 and $34 per hour for this role. If you're clever and handy, you can make good money here and have a great time doing it.
If that all sounds good to you, then lets talk soon
